Ked Bardu is a town in the Dry Steppes.
Lore[]
Ked Bardu is located in the Kotama Grasslands. It has three entrances to its south, north, and east, and is surrounded by walls.[1] Merchants from all around travel to sell in the town's markets, as the reputation of the Oxen Tribe's metalworks brings visitors looking to buy.[2]
History[]
Ked Bardu was founded by Barbarians of the Oxen Tribe. A city grew around them, but their encampment remained largely unchanged.[3] Merchants often came to Ked Bardu, albeit protected by mercenaries,[4] for bandits prowled the roads around the town.[5] The Oxen Tribe mostly kept to their own affairs.[6]
In/around 1336, Ked Bardu's fortunes changed for the worse. Bandits blocked the pass to the south, which meant that merchants stayed inside the city.[7] Worse, after the fall of Guulrahn to the Cannibals, refugees flooded into Ked Bardu. Compassion wasn't in strong supply,[8][9] and the increase in population ate into the town's supply of meat.[10] The refugees settled in makeshift camps on the west side of town, but Ked Bardu didn't have the resources to build quick enough to house its growing population.[11]
In-game[]
Ked Bardu is the main Dry Steppes hub in the Dry Steppes zone in Diablo IV. If players enter the Steppes from Scosglen, it will usually be the second town they arrive in. If they arrive from the Fractured Peaks however, it is a trek to Ked Bardu, as it's located in the western half of the zone.
