"Breathtaking? Before the gates closed, I saw three rats and a starving child fighting over half an apple."
"It pleases you to exaggerate, I’m sure."
"No, it pleases me to pass out drunk in the shade. But here we are."
- The noblewoman and Jeran(src)
Jeran is a member of the Iron Wolves.
Biography[]
Jeran was in Caldeum in 1285. He initially had high hopes for Emperor Hakan II.[1] However, like numerous others, he was cast out of the city proper, and found himself in the bazaar. Before leaving the city, he saw three rats and a starving child fighting over half an apple.[2]
Inside the bazaar, he found himself in the company of a noblewoman who'd been exiled from the Imperial Palace. The two bickered constantly,[3] though as her faith in the emperor began to wane, along with her physical condition, Jeran told her to have some of his water.[4] She eventually accepted that the emperor had gone mad.[1]
When Belial rained fire upon Caldeum, Jeran and the noblewoman hid in a crevice, where he shielded her body throughout the night. They got to know each other, and he told her "delightfully risqué stories" to keep her calm. Afterwards, they met with The Nephalem; Jeran was embarassed of the newfound affection the noblewoman had for him.[5]
