In Diablo Immortal, items can be upgraded at the Blacksmith.
Only Rare, Legendary and Set items can be upgraded. Rare items have a maximum rank of 5.
Upgrade materials[]
The following types of items can be used as upgrade material:
- Scrap: obtained by salvaging items (1 for a normal item and 3 for a magic item) and as event rewards. Used for all upgrades.
- Dust: obtained by salvaging Rare items (1 per item), dropped by The Jurat and as event rewards. Used for primary gear.
- Shard: obtained by salvaging Legendary items (1 per item). Used for primary gear.
- Crystal: obtained from Challenge Rifts, the Seasonal Prodigy's Path, and rewards for Accursed Towers in small quantities. Used for secondary gear.
- Gold is also used for all upgrades.
Upgrade materials are divided into tiers based on the tier of the salvaged item (the "red" tier starts at Hell II) or Challenge Rift floor. Lower-tier materials can be exchanged for higher-tier ones at the Smithing Materials Vendor, with the exception of Crystals, which can only be exchanged at a rate of 20:1 in the Blacksmith upgrade interface if there are not enough higher-tier Crystals available.
The names of the upgrade materials are as follows:
Tier | Scrap | Dust | Shard | Crystal |
---|---|---|---|---|
Yellow | Scrap Materials | Enchanted Dust | Glowing Shard | Enigmatic Crystal |
Red | Reinforced Scrap Materials | Beguiling Dust | Flowing Shard | Cryptic Crystal |
