Transcript[]
- Class: Archmage, I'm here on behalf of the Shadows. We retrieved some essentia — an ancient power source — from the Immortals vault. Can you help us use it?
- Yasmeet: I can. Will I? That depends on you. Show me that the Shadows have the intellect to match your penchant for violence.
- Class: And what, exactly, would convince you of that?
- Yasmeet: To begin; learn the history of this city from one stone. Should be easy enough for a creative thinker like you. I've no idea why you're making that face.
- Class: (talking to self) A single stone that can tell me the history of Westmarch. Quite the riddle.
Of course. The stone golems in Kulle's library. They are surrounded by books.
- Go to the Kulle's library
- Class: The smith's always been forthcoming.
- Class: Smelter, can you tell me the history of Westmarch?
- Resolute Smelter: Westmarch? Uncertain. Not master's design.
- Class: Is there a book around here that contains the details?
- Resolute Smelter: History. East Archives. Beware. Intruders.
After defeating the Sand Scorpions in the East Archives, search the books. A book (Golems: Construction and Destruction) catches the player's eye
- Class: Not this one. I need something about the history of Westmarch.
- The player finds the correct book (The Founding of Westmarch)
- Class: Were they... burning the books? Unbelievable.
- Retrieve the book and return to the Smelter
- Resolute Smelter: Reading. "When... Rakkis consecrated... the city of Westmarch... to the Zakarum faith... he took the wolf as his sigil... a guardian icon... that would be familiar... even reassuring... to some... among the western clans."
- Class: That's enough. I'll just bring her the book. Thank you.
- Yasmeet: I thought you'd endure at least a couple of days of Vecin object-reading. Giving up already?
- Class: In Zoltun Kulle's library, a stone golem read to me from a history book.
"When Rakkis consecrated the city of Westmarch to the Zakarum faith, he took the wolf as his sigil — a guardian icon that would be familiar, even reassuring to some among the western clans..." I could go on... or you could just take this tome as proof.
- Give Yasmeet the tome
- Yasmeet: Since you're so resourceful, why don't you... bring me the most famous statue in Westmarch? Place it right at my feet.
- Class That enormous Statue of Selynne over there? Sure.
- The player tries to move the statue, but fails as it is too heavy
- Class: I thought it'd be lighter.
- Class: You look like a fairly practiced painter.
- Cartney: Th-thank you. I just adore the... solemnity of the statue. I hope I can capture some part of it.
- Class: Suppose you could make me a replica — how much would that cost?
- Cartney: Oh... I'm not a sculptor. Completely different skill. I know a terrific one but... it's complicated. I'll show you.
- Follow Cartney to meet the sculptor
- Cartney: I've known Ono for years. We came to Westmarch to try and sell our work.
He's spirited and talented. He's made a little money. People in this city love to take advantage of that.
- Cartney: Ono! Not again.
- Ono: Bastards. May they have the trots for the rest of their Hells-born lives.
Bandits. They stole my shaping stones and knocked the life out of me after I told them I wouldn't give them any more money. Well... I said the lot of them could stand to miss a few meals. But they're living off my work! - Class: I'll get your materials back. Try not to insult anyone dangerous in the meantime.
- Cartney: (whispers to himself) Oh Ono...
- Bandit: Huh. Ono's paying someone else for protection. How about we send you back to him in pieces?
- After defeating the bandits
- Bandit; You... milk-livered... scut.
- Retrieve Ono's shaping stones and return to him
- Class: Here you go, Ono.
- Ono: Hope they got what they deserved. Cartney says you want a replica of the statue? I can still work.
- Give Ono the shaping stones
- Ono: It'll never be perfect... but I think it's done.
- Return to Yasmeet with the replica
- Class: The statue of Selynne, lain at your feet.
- Give her the replica. Yasmeet inspects it
- Yasmeet: Creative. You made some sport of all this drudgery I've given you. One more test. Of skill this time.
You Shadows think you can shepherd the Immortals and all of Sanctuary with them? Fine. Show me you can kill a demon lord. - Class: With pleasure. They don't walk up to me and introduce themselves, though.
(to himself/herself) If anyone can point me to a Lord of Hell living on Sanctuary it'll be Deckard Cain.
- Class: Cain. I'm trying to employ the services of a sorceress. She asked me to show her how to... kill a Lord of Hell.
- Deckard Cain: That's right in your area of expertise, my friend. What do you need me for?
- Class: It sounds like she wants a demonstration. With a living demon lord. Do you know any?
- Deckard Cain: We've gotten most of the ones in easy reach but perhaps the right story will work. The records in Zoltun Kulle's library. Weren't you able to relive the battle against Baal through them?
- Class: Good thinking. I'll confront Baal and bring her a first hand account.
- Complete Destruction's End dungeon and return to Yasmeet
- Class: I just relived the sealing of Baal, Lord of Destruction. I stood beside two of the greatest mages who ever walked this land.
Here are my notes. Will you help the Shadows craft the artifacts we need? - Yasmeet: No trophy skull? I jest. You've impressed me, <name>. And that's a rare treat. I'll work with your Shadows. Maybe they can actually do some good.
- Give Yasmeet the records of Baal's sealing
- Class: Let me show you to the Court of Whispers.
- At the entrance to the Court of Whispers
- Class. This is it. Remember your promise Yasmeet.
- Yasmeet: How could I forget? I make very few on purpose.
- Yasmeet enters the Court of Whispers
