Hydras are a type of creature found in Sanctuary.
Lore[]
According to legend, the original Hydra was defeated centuries ago by Bul-Kathos. The great serpent was said to spawn two heads for every one that was severed. In order to defeat it, the mighty nephalem supposedly pitched the beast into a roaring bonfire, wresting one of its fangs loose in the process. A wand was fashioned from it.[1]
Hydras of pure flame are able to be summoned from the core of Sanctuary, and they have been allies of the Zann Esu Clan for generations. They owe their freedom to Habacalva, and never fail to answer a call from a proven Sorceress, and stand ready to spit bolts of scorching magma at her enemies.[2]
Zoltun Kulle also constructed a hydra out of flesh, which he locked in his library.
