Transcript[]
- Rayek's Letter:
Shardseeker
Please come to Cain's Workshop when possible. I built a fixed altar for the Helliquary, but there's a lot of unexpected energy coming through it. I need the Helliquary to fine tune it and figure out the source of the spikes.
— Rayek
- Head over to Cain's Workshop
- Rayek: (from a distance) Back here, behind the bookshelf.
- Talk to Rayek
- Rayek: There you are. Did you bring the Helliquary?
- Class: Always. What is this thing?
- Rayek: I've made a fixed altar to increase the Helliquary's range and I've had... unexpected results. Something is interfering with it from around Bilefen. Can you check it out?
- Class: Bilefen... Look for anything that might be "causing interference". Got it.
Travel to Bilefen and find the source of the interference[]
- Class: Bolts of energy in the air... even the earth has cracked here... this must be the source.
- The player is ambushed by monsters corrupted by the fissure. After defeating them
- Class: The nearby beasts are affected as well... Will need to be careful while I gather this sample...
- Saarodan, Sky-Sunderer: (disembodied voice) The sky is my beast of burden, and all will be trampled beneath it.
- Class: Of course this energy is demonic. I need to tell Rayek.
Return to Westmarch[]
- Rayek: You're back! What did you find?
- Class: There was a fissure releasing demonic energy. It put out an intense field that affected the environment and strengthened the beasts. I went to inspect, and the Helliquary began drawing power. Then a demonic voice called out.
- Rayek: Interesting. Let's see what my Helliquary wants to tell us today. I'm pretty certain it can illuminate what we're working with... You hear that? Don't let me down, Helliquary.
- Rayek places the Helliquary on the altar
- Saarodan, Sky-Sunderer: I will feast upon your vapor.
- Rayek: I'm still not used to that. Look, these bastards have done enough damage. We need to close the fissures, and stop the incursions.
Here, was able to mark down other locations this energy is coming from based on what the Helliquary's told me.
- Collect the Helliquary from Rayek
- Class: I'll check these out, let the Helliquary collect energy, and bring them back.
Travel to Dark Wood[]
- Defeat the corrupted wildlife around the fissure
- Khuluul the Crooked Grin: (disembodied voice) Why labor to destroy? Mortals are eager to annihilate themselves.
- Dialog from Cracks
- Khuluul the Crooked Grin: (disembodied voice) Birds flayed by wind, worms choked by earth, innocents gutted by friends — destruction of trust is the sweetest treat.
- Khuluul the Crooked Grin: (disembodied voice) Patricide, matricide, fratricide, and filicide. What a delectable menu. <laughter>.
