Hallow's Wake is a recurring seasonal event in Diablo Immortal.

Lore[]

"Crawling out their graves

who knows if they’ll misbehave.
These hellacious haunts like to flaunt,
Their handiwork leaving Sanctuary gaunt.
For 666 years they have reanimated in celebration,
Hang around and you’ll see they live up to reputation.
Don’t be fooled by their late-night revels,

These sinister spookies are worse than devils."

Humans are possessed by various fiends during the event

Hallow's Wake is celebrated in Khanduras. It commemorates the time when the boundary separating the living and dead grows paper thin. For a short while, two realms fuse into one for Hallow's Wake, where dastardly demons and specters run amok in mischievous harmony, the wrath of vengeful spirits spreading across the land.[1] During Hallow's Wake, all the monstrousness in humanity's heart is made manifest,[2] and humans may be possessed by fiends.[1] In the darkness of Hallow's Wake, deciphering between man and beast is nearly impossible—a trick of the mind, or something far more foreboding?[3]

On the night, undead rise from their graves, but only for the duration of the event. At least in one case, the shambling dead may be dissuaded by the wearing of costumes that honor Hallow's Wake.[3] Indeed, it is said that Hallow's Wake absolves only those who serve it.[4]

Gameplay[]

2022[]

The event ran from October 19, 3:00 a.m.–November 2, 2:59 a.m. server time. During the event, players level 30 and above could complete tasks in exchange for Hallowed Stones. These stones could be traded for spooky rewards, such as the Strawman Sack Mask, Ghosted Emote, and Hallowed Choker Portrait Frame. They can also be used to Trick or Treat with the mysterious Crone or a friend of their choice.[1]

2023[]

The 2023 version of Hallow's Wake will run from October 18, 3 a.m.–November 2, 3 a.m. server time. During the event, players level 30 and above will be tasked with eliminating ghastly goblins, vengeful dead, and cleansing haunted rifts in exchange for Hallowed Stones. Once the player has stockpiled enough, they can be traded for rewards.[3]

Tasks:

A Telluric Pearl is available for turning in 20 stones and a Legendary Crest for 30.

2024[]

The event ran from October, 9 3 a.m. to November 6, 2:59 a.m. server time. Players could earn Hallowed Stones by completing tasks. The tasks were repeatable but the stones had a cap that increased by 4800 each Wednesday. The tasks were:

Every day, the player could ask for a gift from the Crone (who was at a fixed location in Westmarch), however this could randomly result in the character being stunned for a while.

The stones could be spent at the Crone on the following rewards:

2025[]

Similar to the 2024 version. The event period is October 15 to November 12, 2025. The tasks are as follows:

  • Complete a Bounty - 100
  • Complete Bounties in a Party - 100
  • Complete any Dungeon - 100 (this task and the one below interpret "dungeon" rather loosely, not just counting daily dungeons but also Defense of Cyrangar and various other events)
  • Complete any Dungeon in a party - 100
  • A gift from the Crone - 100
  • Defeat Goblins (found in the Open World) - 200 (note that this in fact does count Goblins inside Dungeons, which didn't exist in the 2024 edition)
  • Complete 1 round of Howler Hunt (early exits not counted) - 100

Trivia[]

This section contains facts and trivia relevant to this article.
  • The event appears to be inspired by Halloween and/or Samhain.
  • In-universe, it bears similarities to the Night of Souls.
  • The 666 figure in the song is possibly a reference to "the Devil's number" (666). However, if one takes the figure literally, and that the song is sung during the timeframe of Diablo Immortal, the first Hallow's Wake would have been held in 604.
