Gem of Ease is a Legendary Gem in Diablo III. It can only be socketed into weapons and drops from Greater Rift Guardians.

Gem of Ease
Legendary Gem

  • Monster kills grant +500 experience.
    • Upgrade: +50 additional experience per Rank.
    • Max: +8000 experience at Rank 150.
  • Level Requirement of the weapon is set to 1 (Requires Rank 25)

This stone twinkles with low level light, inviting its bearer to dream of higher ambitions.

  • The experience bonus is multiplied by difficulty, and since it is fixed, it is especially useful when dealing with hordes of lesser enemies.
  • At high ranks, Gem of Ease significantly boosts leveling, especially at lower levels (for comparison, level 1 monster grants 40 experience; level 55 grants 8700; level 60 grants 18700).
  • Alternatively, a rank 25 gem or higher can be used in Kanai's Cube recipe to reduce level requirements of any item (not just weapon) to 1, although the gem is destroyed in process.

  • This gem was Season Two-exclusive, but once this season ended, it started to drop for normal characters as well.

This section contains facts and trivia relevant to this article.
  • It is one of the few Legendary Gems not stated to have been made in Xiansai. Moreover, the shape of the gem implies that it might be of Aranoch origins (the gem's design is reminiscent of the real-world Egyptian sacred scarab trinkets).
  • Another possible inspiration for this gem's design and description may be the Golden Scarab from Aladdin (1992).
  • The introduction of this gem, as well as that of similar bonuses in World of Warcraft, may be developers' response to third-party leveling services, making those, in fact, redundant for leveling alts.
  • It is the first legendary gem that can be placed into an item that isn't jewelry, and the only gem that is specifically required for the Cube recipe, Work of Cathan. For the Caldesann's Despair, any gem will work, while for the Work of Cathan, only Gem of Ease is suitable.
  • The name may refer to Diablo II Jewels of Freedom, which could be socketed into items to reduce requirements.
  • The item description mentions both "low-level" and "twink(les)", possible references to using the gem to "twink" lower level characters by passing them down powerful items from high level alts.
