Geherit was one of the elders of the Inari in the Ancients' Cradle during the onset of the affliction.
Biography[]
After Morwith and her followers absconded with the Pathstone, Ymuthrus became the island's new Prevailing Wind. He ordered that any Lilin who had ever advocated leaving the island was to be executed. Geherit and her fellow Inari were shocked, but only Zatham spoke out against him. In retaliaton, Ymuthrus ordered Zatham to be submitted to the rite of Purity's Penance. It did not kill Zatham, but burned the eyes from his face. Ymuthrus then permitted him exile. Geherit noted that it was, by Ymuthrus's standards, generous.[1]
Later, Zatham returned to the Cradle in the company of the Shard-seeker. Zatham attacked Ymuthrus, but was blasted away. Geherit advocated mercy, and asked Ymuthrus to entrust Zatham and the newcomer to her, so she could evaluate their claims. Ymuthrus agreed, but told her that whatever harm they brought would be inflicted on her tenfold. Geherit agreed to his terms, and asked Zatham and the Shard-seeker to follow her. She asked Zatham why he couldn't have held his grieviances inside, to which Zatham bitterly responded that this was how rot spread; unwillingness to speak its name.[2]
Outside Exiles' Repose, Geherit and Zatham discussed the situation. She pointed out that only Ymuthrus had taken Zatham's sight, not his fellow elders. Zatham responded that Ymuthrus was the worst of them, and emblematic of the rot that had taken the Inari. Geherit told him to save his anger for the Cult of Terror, and led them into the Veiled Spring. Zatham told her that they had the Pathstone, which meant they could use it to reinforce the Husk of Creation. With that, Ymuthrus would see their worth. However, the time the Pathstone had spent away from the Cradle had unblanaced it. To use it, they had to restore its equilibrium. The Pathstone was given to the Shard-seeker, and she ordered them to take it to Shieldholm.[3]
The Shard-seeker returned after charging the Pathstone with the Father's Legacy. Geherit was overjoyed, and commented that with the Mother's Legacy, the Ancients' Cradle could be reforged. Zatham joined them after a short while. After they caught up on each other's progress, Geherit offered to peer into the spring for a vision of the cult's activities. The spring revealed a vision of the Bride of Hell with the shard at the Husk of Creation. After she told her companions of her vision, the Shard-seeker left for Lilith's shrine with renewed haste, while Zatham promised to do his best to delay the cult.[4]
Zatham returned to the Veiled Spring with cultists. Together, they defeated Geherit and destroyed the spring. However, Zatham spared her, and left her trapped beneath rubble. The Shard-seeker later returned with Tarzoine.[5]
