The Frozen Tundra
The Frozen Tundra is located in the Dreadlands.
Lore[]
A Barbarian battles khazra on the tundra
Despite the adverse conditions in the Frozen Tundra, many creatures inhabit these lands. They all have their own way to resist the cold.[1]
Since the destruction of Mount Arreat, the Frozen Tundra has been inhabited by scattered Barbarian tribes,[2] and spirits of the fallen haunt the region. Despite Baal's defeat at Arreat, the remnants of his army remained. Only the Barbarian tribes were able to keep these remnants at bay, but they were scattered and isolated.
In 1270, the Shard-seeker came to the Tundra. In the knowledge that the Barbarians had to live united or die divided, they sought to rally the tribes against their common foe. Otherwise, hell would break loose once more.[3]

The tundra is a zone in Act V of Diablo II, between the Glacial Trail and The Ancients' Way. The area is divided by numerous fortifications. Somewhere within it is the entrance to the Infernal Pit.
Unlike the wilderness areas close to the city, this area is almost entirely covered by white snow. This can cause some difficulty in picking out other white-colored (or bright) missile attacks like charged bolts or blood stars. Beware when facing monsters that can fire such missiles.
Development[]
The area is called "Tundra Wastelands" in files.
