Can one of the bot-makers out there create a bot that automatically gives a user the edit milestone rewards with a message that shows their milestone edit page? And can someone give me a link to some tutorial on creating bots? "Woohoo!!! New class(es) gonna be revealed at Blizzcon!!!" - Mobokill 16:33, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Sounds complicated to do. You should ask somewhere else. Maybe EVula knows of some kind of bot script that does that. - It just boggles the mind Dan (talk) 16:40, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, but bots are something I've never actually dealt with; everything I've done has been by hand (even the really odd stuff, like interwiki mapping). The most I can do is point you to wikipedia:Wikipedia:Creating a bot, but I have no clue what Wikia's policy about bots is. EVula // talk // // 17:51, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

I have an idea: How about each user adds the number of edits pentagrams themselves and link to the edit themselves. This way no one has to do any work and those that don't like reward templates don't get any. - It just boggles the mind Dan (talk) 18:04, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Not bad... How many bright ideas do you have in a day? Heh heh. So, in that case, I'll never have those edit rewards. It's not that I don't like them. But I'm too lazy to edit my own userpage. Heh heh "Woohoo!!! New class(es) gonna be revealed at Blizzcon!!!" - Mobokill 18:09, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Why can't I add links to the reward templates? Because I wanted to link to my 500th, 1000th, and so on, edit and it doesn't work. - Dan (talk) 18:34, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

If you're doing a usual sort of inclusion, like {{whatever|field1}}, it won't work because of one of the characters in the diff link. Try {{whatever|1=field1}}. (likewise, if there's a second, it would be "2=", etc). That should do it. EVula // talk // // 18:40, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! That solves it. - Dan (talk) 18:45, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
