Fey

Fey (also spelt as Fae)[1] are nature spirits found in the Sharval Wilds.

Lore[]

The fey are dangerous and avaricious creatures but unlike demons, are not eternal.[1] Fey normally reside in holts,[2] and at least some fey are said to be 'avatars' of Sharval's hunger and rot.[2] They are territorial, and will rattle in their holts after sensing footfalls a mile away.[3]

Fey are able to take control of humans by burrowing through open wounds, taking control of their bodies. Even after the original body has been reduced to a corpse due to rigor mortis, the fey maintain control of the body.[4]

History[]

Adventurers battle against rampaging fey

The people of Entsteig have long believed the Wilds to be an enchanted place of fey spirits.[5] The Witch Circles have been aware of the existence of fey, and treat them with caution.[6]

c. 1274, fey began emerging from Sharval in record numbers, abducting humans and consuming entire villages.[7] Homesteaders and travelers alike were abducted.[2] The fey refused every attempt to appease them.[7] As conflict continued to embroil Sharval, the Bloomhollow fey awoke from slumber.[4]

In-game[]

The fey were introduced to Diablo Immortal as a monster family in The Writhing Wilds update, as part of the Sharval questline.[7]
