The Fetish Shaman is a type of Fetish.
Lore[]
Fetish Shamans are marked by their elaborate headdresses. They are capable of creating additional Fetish, and lead them into wars of their own devising.[1] The Shamans are always borne upon the shoulders of a lesser Fetish. Undoubtedly, they believe that this appearance of added height makes them look more ferocious and is befitting their station. Their ability to resurrect their dead and breathe great gouts of flame ensures that none of their brethren will argue with their "lofty" requirements.[2]
In-game[]
Diablo II[]
Fetish Shaman are monsters found in Act III of Diablo II in the jungles. They are the higher-level equivalent of Fallen and Fallen Shaman. They are chosen from the most intelligent Fetish of a tribe. They aid their kin by having the ability to breathe fire and revive their slain kin.
Kill the Fetish Shaman first because they can resurrect other Fetishes. Beware of their highly damaging Inferno Fire attacks. Having resistance to Fire is useful. If you kill Shaman, the normal 'carrier' fetish will be released and attack you. He can no longer use fire spells or resurrect other Fetish. Note that if you kill Super Unique Shaman, the carrier will also be a Super Unique but with little health (and often with the same name). You get unique loot from both the killing the shamans and then from killing the carrier. They use resurrect rarely, because it's melee-range and they like to wander in random directions, their real threat is their inferno attack and a big number of fast fetishes.
Fetish Shaman come in five variants: Ratman Shaman, Flayer Shaman, Flayer Shaman, Soul Killer Shaman, and Stygian Doll Shaman
- Ratman Shamans is unused, but normal Rat Men can be found in the game.
- Fetish Shamans can be found in:
- Spider Forest (preset),

Uniques[]
- Witch Doctor Endugu -- A Super Unique Soul Killer Shaman
Development[]
- In version 1.00-1.09d they could cast a Fetish Aura on other Fetishes, it showed an Curse overlay for a moment but didn't affect the Fetishes in any way. Evidence in the files shows that Fetish Aura was supposed to make the Attack Rate of Fetishes faster. Witch Doctor Endugu and random Unique Fetish Shamans could also cast it on other Fetish Shamans. In later versions it was disabled in the AI of Shamans, so they can't use this skill.
- In version 1.00 they could resurrect Fetishes from a long distance just like Fallen Shamans.
Diablo Immortal[]
Fetish Shamans reappear as enemies in Diablo Immortal on Bilefen. They retain their ability to breathe fire, as well as lobbing and shooting fireballs.
