Fare You Well is the first of the storyline quests released with the Destruction's Wake update in Diablo Immortal. To unlock it the player must have reached level 60, finished the Trail of Terror quest, and changed the difficulty to at least Hell I. Completing this quest unlocks the Ancients' Cradle zone. Fare You Well is immediately followed by Forsaken Land.

Transcript[]
- Zatham: We have discovered how to use the Pathstone. Talk with your seer, and then let us sail for the Ancients' Cradle. It is long past time.
- Class: I'll confer with Cain and Karshun and meet you shortly.
- Zatham: Then I will speak with the watchers here. There may be news of the fanatics' movement.
- Karshun: (from within the workshop) Are you certain, Cain? You aren't getting any younger.
- Head into the workshop...
- Class: I heard the Pathstone is ready. What are you talking about?
- Deckard Cain: Karshun and were having a... discussion. About a rumor I want to seek out.
- Class: Of course. I'll help, as soon as we're back from the voyage.
- Deckard Cain: No, don't trouble yourself. You have more urgent work. But... if you wouldn't mind a sprint to the docks, I have an associate who can help me with this. Tell him I'll meet him shortly. He will be easy to spot... a paladin of Zakarum, and proud of it.
(to Karshun) The signs are everywhere, Karshun. We cannot focus on one problem at a time.
- Start heading to the Docks
- Class: (to self) What is this about?
- At the Docks
- Akarat: (to himself) Now, where is he?
- Class: You must be looking for Cain.
- Akarat: That I am. Akarat is my name.
- Class:
- Standard: He said he'd meet you shortly.
- Crusader: Akarat? I thought you'd be taller. (sigh) Cain will come find you shortly.
- Akarat: There's no hurry. I'll wait for him nearby.
- Start returning to Cain's Workshop
- Class: Cain invites everyone to his workshop. Why does he has this paladin waiting outside?
- At Cain's Workshop
- Rayek: I was worried you were going to miss him.
- Enter Cain's Workshop
- Charsi: Is this the right pile? (hands Cain a pile of books)
- Deckard Cain: (packs the books in his trunk) You all are perfectly capable without me. Rayek's genius; Karshun, your wisdom; Charsi, your craft...
And you've a most reliable friend on top of that. One who tends to do all the hard work, don't forget. (stands up) - Karshun: (closes the trunk) Your faith is very rarely misplaced.
- Deckard Cain: (notices the player) Ah. We were just talking about you.
- Class: You're leaving?
- Deckard Cain: Yes. I can ignore the prophecy of the End of Days no longer. There have been too many signs. I must look for answers that Westmarch cannot offer.
We all have our roles to play, and I believe yours is to stop the darkness which presently looms. There is nothing I provide which you cannot accomplish yourself. - Karshun: If that is your decision, I will not stand in your way. Though I may regret trying to read your script.
- Deckard Cain: Ha ha... never change, my friend. The workshop is yours until I return — I know you will use it well.
- Class: It's been the end of days for a long time. Are you sure about this?
- Rayek: (from the entrance) Anything else to move?
- Rayek enters the scene
- Deckard Cain: Just a few more, my boy. If you wouldn't mind.
- Rayek: Good point. If I do mind, will you stay?
- Deckard Cain: You all are far too much. Don't bully an old man.
- Rayek I know when you've made a decision. Let me take the rest of these. (picks up a trunk)
- Charsi: I'll help.
- While they load the trunks to the Cart
- Deckard Cain: (moves to his table) I've left my research on the Worldstone, and a few other subjects besides. I am certain they will be of use to you.
- Cain moves over to his bookshelf
- Deckard Cain: And some of my own manuscripts — if you can be bothered to squint, you might learn a few new things.
- Deckard Cain: Save for my memories... this is all I have of Amelia and Jered now.
(to the player) Would you mind taking it to the cart outside?
It's hardly fit for travel, but... it wouldn't be right for me to leave it.
- Transport the Portrait to the Cart...
- Deckard Cain: That appears to be everything, my dear friends.
At my age, you become an expert in farewells.
But... I quite prefer, "we'll meet again." - Karshun: May the stars follow you, Elder.
- Deckard Cain: (to the player) Walk with me for a little, my friend. If you please.
- Follow Cain to the cart
- Charsi: You know where to find me, Cain. Have a safe journey.
- Rayek: Goodbye! Oh... we'll meet again!
- Deckard Cain: Your potential... your... virtue... have no limit. I knew it the moment you stepped into the chapel at Wortham.[1]
You've met your perils with resolve and compassion. And that is rare indeed.
- Akarat: Elder Cain.
- Deckard Cain: These are troubling times. Perhaps more than any in my life. So many ignore the call to help others. It is... hard to blame them.
- Akarat: (to the driver) Take the carriage to the docks. We'll be there.
- The cart continues to the docks
- Class
- Barbarian: I did not think the Heart of Creation would ever be in my charge. But it is so. I will fight to protect it as long as I draw breath.
- Blood Knight: One day... I too may ignore the cries of the innocent. Until then, I am their weapon against the darkness. I swear it with every moment I have left.
- Crusader: Faith was born for times like these. When people think they have no chance, they lay down and die. I'm still here.
- Monk: My will and the will of the gods are one through our trials. I can not turn from this path any more than the earth can become the sky.
- Wizard: If you hear of someone better qualified to deal with demons, arcane knowledge, Creation's leftovers... send them my way. In the meantime, I think I shall keep on.
- Deckard Cain: I have seen some of the bravest people alive descend into Hell.[2] Stand against Destruction incarnate.[3] You are a hero of their ilk. For what you have endured.... perhaps even greater.
Never lose sight of all you have overcome. Cultists, traitors,[4] Demon Lords.[5] The power of creation itself.
One last thing. Quit worrying about me. I've walked dangerous roads my whole life. You stop fearing what could happen, and focus on what must. I'll be as safe as I ever have. - Class: Thank you for everything, Cain. We'll meet again.
- Deckard Cain: Until that day, my friend. (turns to face Akarat) Have I kept you waiting, Akarat? Patience is the highest virtue, you know...
- Karshun: Enough goodbyes?
- Class: I'd gotten... used to him being here. I hope he'll be alright.
- Karshun: I met Cain in a jungle,[6] you met him in a town under siege.[1] He can take care of himself.
Let's see to your journey, hmmm? - Class: You know the way to the Ancients' Cradle?
- Karshun: I'll need the Pathstone.
- Give the Pathstone to Karshun
- Karshun: (examines the Pathstone) It... harbors a residual energy I do not recognize.
- Karshun: But it's powers are of sealing and unsealing, not just doors. The sky themselves.
- After the Astral Anchor deactivates, inspect it
- Talk to Karshun
- Class: How should we use it?
- Karshun: When you sail into the fog and mist of the Forgotten Sea, keep it close, and your mind focused on thoughts of opening.
- Class: Hold it and think about it. I can do both at once.
- Karshun: You might appreciate a simple task... on the rare occasion one presents itself.
- Class: I'll keep that in mind. Take care of this place, Karshun.
- Start heading to the docks
- Class: Back to the docks, then.
- At the docks
- Zatham: Are you ready?
- Zatham: Two ships departed Westmarch in the dead of night without any record of their destination. The fanatics must be on the way.
- Class: Karshun showed me how to use the Pathstone. Can you guide us to Ancients' Cradle?
- Zatham: Yes. Be certain you have everything you need. This will be a short journey. (boards the ship)
- Captain Rehm: You're back already. Which of the four corners is it today
- Give the map to Rehm
- Captain Rehm: The Forgotten Sea, eh? Quite the trip. Can't imagine what you'd expect to find out there.
- Class: We'll do everything we can to keep your crew safe. And you don't need to stay. But we have to leave —
- Captain Rehm: Yes, know. Soon? Right away? Yesterday? We're already stocked. Come by at your leisure.
- Sail to the Ancients' Cradle
