The Ethereal Edge is an elite unique Silver-Edged Axe from Diablo II: Lord of Destruction.
A two-handed axe with very good damage output, the Ethereal Edge is most effective against Demons, and also offers a little bit of protection against Fire attacks. When compounded with the right accompanying equipment, Ethereal Edge makes a very formidable weapon against demonic enemies associated with fire.
Perhaps the most interesting fact about Ethereal Edge is that it is ethereal and indestructible as well. This gives the weapon's base damage a 50% bonus while removing the worry of the item breaking. This is similar to another unique item, Shadow Killer.
