Enchant is a Sorceress Skill in Diablo II.

Lore[]

Upon learning this skill, an experienced Sorceress has the ability to imbue a weapon with the power of fire. The renowned Sorceress, Habacalva, once assaulted the elemental planes themselves wielding such an enchanted mace. Her enemies soon came to fear the mention of the weapon as much as her name.

Enchant imbues a weapon with Fire damage.

One of the best Sorceress support skills, Enchant can not only be used on the Sorceress herself, but also on fellow party members, hirelings and minions (all at the same time as well!). Although the description seems to say otherwise, Enchant works on characters themselves — using Enchant will imbue both weapons in both sets with Fire Damage. Casting Enchant on a mercenary or player grants them the weapon buff; casting it anywhere else results in the Sorceress enchanting her own weapons. Visually, enchanted weapon glows bright red on characters (on minions and hirelings, the color change will not be applied, but the effect will still be active).

Enchant is the key skill of the Enchantress. Some players choose to create Sorceresses that are intimidating physical fighters by allocating points into Strength and then Enchanting their weapons accordingly. It is also a viable choice for a powerleveling support, since on high ranks it allows low-level characters to kill most enemies in one hit.

When Enchant is used on the Sorceress herself, any +Fire Skill Damage she has (such as from Fire Mastery) applies twice — once when casting Enchant, and once when actually attacking[1].

Some equipment, such as the Runeword Obedience and the unique battle gauntlets Lava Gout, grant a chance of casting a high level Enchant upon striking or killing an enemy. This type of Enchant may only be used on the wielder.
