Dungeons are a gameplay feature of Diablo Immortal. They are instanced, four-player experiences. Each dungeon has a specific number of monsters and a selection of bosses.[1] They are designed to be completed quickly, and are intended for groups of players, though can be completed solo.[2] They are expected to take players 10–15 minutes to complete (in reality they can be done in a few minutes).[3] Multiple difficulties are available. Each boss has items unique to their loot table.[4]
Dungeons can be queued from anywhere.[5] A blacksmith is located at the end of each dungeon.[6] Dungeons have a chance to drop a set item, with a guaranteed drop after at most every 7 runs if using the Random Dungeon finder.[7]
Dungeons feature a damage statistics tracker that shows the breakdown of damage done per skill.
Helliquary zones are regarded as dungeon in some respects,[6] though are practically just single boss arenas and don't use many of the mechanics associated with the dungeons described on this page (which are sometimes referred to as daily dungeons to be specific).

Random Dungeon[]
The Random Dungeon feature allows entering into any dungeon that is looking for a party. It can be found by opening the Party Finder from the menu (not by opening the party view using the icon next to the character portrait). It can also be opened from the Codex, but only if there is no Battle Point reward to claim, as the Claim button replaces the search button. When accepting the party, the Random Dungeon entry animation crossfades into the entry animation of the dungeon chosen, and then the dungeon loads. Completing a dungeon via Random Dungeon adds a pity counter that guarantees a Set Item after at most 7 dungeons (5 in Challenge mode). The counter will only appear if there was no set item dropped using the normal drop mechanics, and is reset to zero after a set item drops in either way. A set item drop from the chest (as opposed to the boss) will not reset the counter.
Warp to Final Boss[]
Starting with the Splintered Souls update, a portal may appear during a dungeon. This instantly warps players to the final boss, but the boss will be stronger than regular. It also increases rewards and Treasure Goblins may spawn. This modifier was called "Greed's Spoils" in the patch notes but this name is not used in the game, instead the popup window has the label "Warp to Final Boss" under the icon.
Challenge Dungeon[]
The Challenge Dungeon option (available at Inferno I or higher) increases the difficulty of the dungeon for the chance of better rewards. There is a weekly reward containing a Set Item for clearing a Challenge Dungeon, and the drop rates for regular rewards is increased.
Monsters have 300% more Life and deal 200% more damage in Challenge Dungeons. Additionally, one or two of the following modifiers are applied:
- Big Problem: Enemies are larger throughout the dungeon. The player's size is decreased. Bosses will continuously grow over time until they enrage.
- Laser: Enemies fire beams of energy at targets.
- Bad Blood: Enemies may leave behind a pool of blood after death that will slow and damage players.
- Bolstered: Some non-Boss monsters have an aura that increased movement and attack speed of nearby monsters, and gives them a shield.
- Rain of Fire: Fireballs occasionally fall from the sky, leaving burning areas that will damage the player.
- Sacrificial Power: Skills have greatly reduced cooldowns but cost Health. Monsters will drop additional Health Orbs.
- Lava Eruption: Lava periodically erupts beneath the player.
- Speed Run: Completing the dungeon within the time limit will grant bonus rewards.
- Swarming: The dungeon has more normal monsters throughout.
- S-Class: The dungeon has more elite monsters throughout.
- Gauntlet: The dungeon has no normal monsters, and Bosses are stronger. Combat Orbs that boost your speed have been added to get you to bosses faster.
- Heightened Senses: Monsters sense players more easily and have greatly increased movement speed.
- Conjurer: Some monsters and Bosses summon doppelgangers.
- Bountiful: Combat Globes drop more frequently.
- Greed's Spoils: Skip directly to the final Dungeon Boss. The Boss’s difficulty is increased.
- Disruptive Portal: A portal will appear at a random point within the dungeon, releasing an extremely powerful enemy. Defeat the enemy to earn an extra reward.
- Electric: Players will periodically be marked with Positive or Negative. Standing close to players with the same status will reduce cooldowns; standing close to players with the opposite status will damage both players.
- Explosive Reaction: Enemies will periodically be marked. After a short delay, marked enemies will explode. All enemies hit by the explosion will become explode.
- Chains: Up to two players will periodically be chained together. The chained players take continuous damage until they run away from each other to break the chain.
History[]
Tristram Cathedral and the Random Dungeon feature were added in the September 21, 2023 update.[8] The bonus chest for a full party was also made to open automatically as opposed to requiring all party members to simultaneously click on it.
The Replay Dungeon feature was added in the October 11, 2023 update.
In the March 27, 2024 update, a mechanism was added that force-teleports players to mandatory catch-up points (e.g. the elevators in Pit of Anguish and Tristram Cathedral) if they are not together for 15 seconds.
The September 11, 2024 update added the ability to vote to kick a player from Random Dungeons.
The damage tracker was added in the September 25, 2024 update.
Challenge Dungeons were added in the December 13, 2024 update.
In the January 8, 2025 update, the Follow feature was disabled in Challenge Dungeons. The life cost of skills when Sacrificial Power is active was reduced from 10% to 8%. The Conjurer spawn duration was reduced from 12 to 6 seconds, and the doppelganger damage was increased. A penalty was added for players who leave a dungeon within the first minute such that they can't join a new party for a short period. The wait time for advancing to the next checkpoint in some dungeons was shortened from 15 to 8 seconds.
The extra orb drops for Gauntlet and Sacrificial Power, as well as the Disruptive Portal, Electric, Explosive Reaction and Chains modifiers, were added in the March 20, 2025 update. The same update added the Replay Dungeon feature for Random Dungeons completed in a pre-made party.
In the April 29, 2025 update, some of the modifiers were made easier:
- Disruptive Portal: the Butcher's health was reduced.
- Electric: cooldown was increased, and the damage only starts occurring after a 1-second delay.
- Chains: cooldown was increased, the maximum chain duration was shortened, and it no longer occurs in elevators and other small areas in dungeons.
- Explosive Reaction: damage was changed to a fixed amount based on monster and difficulty level instead of a percentage of player health.
- Sacrificial Power: health cost was changed to be based on skill cooldown, with the previous cost aligned for a skill with a cooldown of 12 seconds.
