Dodge allows the Amazon to passively dodge melee attacks (completely negating them) while standing still. Dodge works while turning around, attacking and casting; its only limit is actual movement. Like Critical Strike, however, the points start to drop off very quickly. Therefore it's best to put only a few points in Dodge (perhaps only one as a prerequisite for Valkyrie). Any skill bonus gear would then make Dodge more effective without wasting points.
Any points put into Dodge grant Valkyrie summons a chance to dodge melee attacks. The percentage for the Valkyrie is based on the number of hard points allocated to Dodge only. +skill equipment increases the percentage for the Amazon but not the Valkyrie.
Bugs[]
There's a nasty "Dodge-Bug" that can make playing an Amazon more frustrating. If the Amazon has an attack in progress and Dodges an enemy's attack, the remainder of the Amazon's attack has no effect. Unfortunately, the full animation sequence of the attack is completed. For example, if the Amazon launches a 10-arrow Strafe attack, but dodges an attack after arrow #2, the other 8 arrows in the sequence still show up on the screen but do not actually have any effect. The Amazon is still "Strafe-Locked" for the duration.
