A hypothetical Diablo film has been discussed at various points in time.
Ideas of a a Diablo movie go at least as far back as 1997. Multiple movie details were in the works that never went through.
In 2007, it was speculated that Legendary Pictures were producing a film titled "Diablo", based on the Diablo series. The film was listed in Legendary Picture's "In Development" list along with the (already confirmed) World of Warcraft movie. A day later, the film was taken down from the list.
In March 2019, Blizzard Entertainment filed for a trademark for "downloadable films and movies featuring narratives based on a video game and provided via a video-on-demand service," the video game in question being the Diablo series.
