Defense of Cyrangar gameplay

Defense of Cyrangar (also called Castle Defense) is a game mode in Diablo Immortal.

The event is themed around demons trying to take the castle for their own, with the player's warband defending their fortress. It can be played in two ways:

• Normal Mode: Can be played once a week. In this mode, players must withstand eight waves of blood-thirsty demons. If the warband successfully staves off the Hellspawn, the players will receive rewards and experience for holding the line firm. The rewards for Normal mode can also be earned by reaching a score of 7000 or higher in Endless mode.

• Endless Mode: Can be played at any time. In this mode, warbands will receive a score based on how many heavy-hitting waves of demons they can survive. This mode has an accompanying leaderboard. The top warbands will receive the Cyrangar Defense Portrait Frame.

Note that ancestral weapons have the highest drop rates in this event, matched only by Purge the Depths.

Battle Points are only awarded for this event after completing the warband quest in Castle Cyrangar, even though it is possible to enter beforehand.

History

Originally only raids composed of the members of the same warband could enter Defense of Cyrangar. After the September 21, 2023 update, this requirement was dropped and the event can be accessed from the NPC in Westmarch.

In the April 2, 2025 update, the ability to earn the Normal rewards in Endless Mode was added, and the monster difficulty scaling was increased.
