Darkness Within

Darkness Within is a prologue campaign quest in Diablo IV.

It initiates after completing "Dusk on the Mountain," and is followed by "A Hero's Return."

Objectives[]

Enter Icehowl Ruins. "I've agreed to search the ruins north of Nevesk and slay whatever evil hides there."
Search the depths of Icehowl Ruins.
Enter the Chamber of Calling.
Inspect the Decapitated Priest.
Slay X'fal

Walkthrough[]

Head out of the tavern and turn right, heading towards the yellow quest indicator. This takes you to Icehowl Ruins. Be cautious for monsters on the way. Interact with the tower gate to enter the ruins. Progress through the dungeon until the Wanderer comes to a diamond shaped room with a decapitated priest in the center of it. After inspecting, X'fal, the Scarred Baron appears. Defeat him to complete the quest.
