Introduction[]

Shortly after recovering the Scepter of Fahir, Tabri, leader of the Amber Blades, went missing in the dead of night. The desert's two big gangs--the Amber Blades and the Sand Scorpions--are converging on the buried Library of Zoltun Kulle. If Tabri and the scepter are on the move, perhaps a new ruler of Shassar is about to begin their reign.

Stages[]

No one in the Amber Blades keeps their ear to the ground more than Zov. Find him in the Library, and Tabri's whereabouts will become clearer.

Convinced Tabri has fled Vataos's wrath and is hiding somewhere in the Library, Zov suggests you join him in his search for her. She cannot have gone far!

Separated from you, Zov has quickly found himself in trouble. Rescue him from Zoltun Kulle's horrifying experiments.

This place is far from a safe place for discussion and Tabri is nowhere to be found. Best to leave the area.

The search for Tabri and the Scepter of Fahir continues. It seems Zov and Peth have joined forces with the Curator's golems.

You have been handed over a letter from Tabri intended for Peth. Read through its contents and speak with Zov.

Zov isn't exactly wrong. Zoltun Kulle's creations in the hands of the Sand Scorpions could lead to warfare, or even worse outcomes. Perhaps you should join Zov in his search.

Following after Zov, you reach a forgotten chamber in the depths of the Library. What strange artifacts could possibly lie in wait here?

Exactly as you predicted, Zov's impatience has cost him. Hold back the undead hordes until you can discover a way to free him.

With the undead Horadrim defeated, you can finally free Zov. If he stops squirming, that is.

Freed from the machine, Zov seems no worse for wear. Perhaps now he will be more considerate of your warnings.

Once more, the search continues. Best to keep an eye out for Zov as you explore the Library. Who knows where he might turn up.

At long last, Zov seems to finally be on Tabri's trail. Search the area for clues to her whereabouts.

The scattered parchment and papers indicate this area served as Zoltun Kulle's experiments in teleportation. Could Tabri have taken one of those portals?

Following Zov, you reach a portal much larger than the others. This must be where Tabri has taken refuge. Follow after her before Vataos and his men arrive.

The portal is sealed, leaving Tabri and whatever remains of Vataos behind. Worse yet, Zov has stolen the Scepter of Fahir! Chase after him!

That thieving rat is gone. Perhaps Peth knows where he might have scurried off to?

Zov: Friend! It's you! What a fortunate encounter in a miserable place.

Class: Zov? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with Tabri and the others?

Zov: Yes, I should! And that is entirely the problem. After you left, Tabri declared war on the Sand Scorpions. She tried to strike against Vataos using the power of the scepter. Completely foolish if you ask me.

Zov: We were overwhelmed--Chased into this godforsaken library! I was searching for Tabri when I was surrounded by these nightmarish...things! We have to find her before something happens. She still has the scepter!

Zov: Some Sand Scorpions ran into the chambers ahead. Tabri can't be far...I hope.

Zov: These cages are empty. I wonder what they contained...

Zov: Ahh! Up there! Up there!

Zov: Did you see that? I was nearly crushed to death! And Tabri isn't even in here! Come on, we need to keep looking.

Zov: Dead bodies. But not Tabri...Hopefully she still has the scepter.

Zov: Be careful!

Zov: No, no! The ground itself is alive. You saw what happened to that creature, yes? The tentacles seem to react to movement. Gods above! What kind of madman houses things like this?

Zov: Shhh. What was that?

Zov: No, no!

Zov: Help! There's something in here with me! Get me out! Get me out!

Zov: I would appreciate it if you never told anyone about what just happened...

Class: I'll consider it. I didn't see any signs of Tabri. Did you?

Zov: No, no. At least we know it's unlikely these things have her. I'll have to continue the search elsewhere! Don't worry about me, friend. We'll meet again. Hopefully in...a safer place next time, hm?

Zov: I tell you, these golems are useless! And they talk so slowly, it's no wonder they've all gone mad. Still, you're here now, and you...you I can trust!

Zov: Here, look at this. Peth found this note Tabri left behind for us. It seems the Sand Scorpions are looking for something...go ahead, read it!

Zov: You can ignore that last part. You know Tabri, always a kidder. Anyways, as you can see, we have work to do!

Zov: Peth believes these rock people have all the answers. Even if they do, it will take forever! Come, you and I can help Tabri together! This is our golden opportunity, I can sense it!

Zov: There was a group of Scorpions just outside of this filthy hovel. They're looking for something nearby, I'm sure of it.

Zov: Now this must be what we're looking for! If the "mad mage" Tabri mentioned hid weapons anywhere, they'll be in a place like this. We should take a look around.

Zov: Over there! I see bodies...Follow me!

Zov: Well, they're not breathing anymore...And it seems they found something interesting here. Fortunate for us, hm? Those undead mages did all the work! Haha!

Class: Don't be overconfident. This library has claimed the lives of many...

Zov: You sound like Peth! Come on, a weapon is only as dangerous as the man wielding it.

Zov: Huh? It's got me! I can't move!

Mage: Life...easily snuffed out...We hunger.

Zov: Break it! Q-quickly!

Zov: Ah, ahhh!

Clue 1: Terminus Connection 606: Failure. Terminus Connection 607: Failure. Terminus Connection 608: Failure. Why does every test result in failure? There must be a way to connect to the Archive. I will not leave my Library abandoned forever. Perhaps the Realm of Shadow...

Clue 2: Terminus Connection 1001: Failure. I can waste no more time on this potential array. Humanity's salvation awaits. If I must consign this Library to rot to save mankind. So be it.

Class: Zov. I found evidence of a portal array. Tabri might have been using it.

Zov: Now that is interesting! Come here!

Zov: Look, there's footprints leading to this frame. Two sets, one smaller than the other. If Tabri is using the portal array you speak of, it looks like someone followed her.

Zov: The tracks go no further than the frame. It's like they disappeared...Well, if this is a portal device, there must be a way to activate it. Hm...what's this? Aha!

Zov: That did it! Go, find Tabri!

Vataos: You cannot escape me, Tabri. You never could. I will have the scepter and your head.

Vataos: Did you really think you could change Shassar with a band of murderers? I taught you better than this.

Tabri: It's you! Oh thank the sun you're here! I would have thought Peth would have guided you here sooner...

Tabri: Listen, Vataos has the scepter! We cannot leave him with it, or a thousand years of suffering could begin anew.

Tabri: You have to stop him. The portals are the key...use them and end Vataos or we may never see a brighter Shassar Sea.

Tabri: The scepter! Grab it!

Tabri: You have it, yes? Good; once again, you fail to disappoint. Let's get out of here. The portals are unstable.

Vataos: Tabri...running away again?

Vataos: You will never escape me. Never.

Vataos: Our fates are intertwined. You break away...only to come right back.

Vataos: And now you want to kill me? Then let's die together. Hahaha.

Class: Tabri? The portal's sealed! Tabri!

Zov: The Scepter of Fahir...I knew I had a good feeling about you, friend.

Zov: You're going to make me a lot of money.

Class: Zov? He took the scepter!

Class: No sign of him...Peth! Peth is still in the hidden alcove. He may know where Zov's gone to.

Class: Peth, have you seen Zov? I was able to find Tabri, but we were separated. In the chaos, he stole the Scepter of Fahir!

Peth: Zov? No, I haven't! I haven't seen him in a while. H-he stole the scepter? By the gods...

Peth: Oh, this is bad...Tabri warned me to keep an eye on him. She suspected Zov might have been up to something. Told me to keep him out of trouble while she dealt with Vataos.

Peth: That little rat had you working for him, didn't he? Used you to find her...and took his opportunity when it struck...I am at a loss. What do we do now? The hope Shassar Sea once had...has been stolen.

Class: I-I don't know. But Zov will not escape punishment for long. That much I promise.
