==Lore==

The mines are located under/adjacent to [[Windfall Hollow]], and true to their name, were sealed off from the mine proper under orders from [[Prava]]. She refused to explain why, only instructed the [[Knights Penitent]] at [[Pine Hill]] to prevent anyone from entering, or [[monster|anything]] from getting out. By [[Timeline#1336|1336]], the mines were in a dilapidated state; their support beams were crumbling, and sections of the mine were caving in.<ref name = "Undertaking">''[[Diablo IV]]'', ''{{4|Act I}}'', ''[[Undertaking]]''</ref>

That year, {{4|the Wanderer}}, [[Neyrelle]], and [[Vigo]] were forced to navigate these mines in pursuit of [[Lilith]] and [[Vhenard]]. They braved both the collapsing mines and the [[monster]]s that dwelt within.<ref name = "Undertaking"/>

==In-game==

The Condemned Mines are located under Windfall Hollow, and are passed through as part of the story [[quest]] "[[Undertaking]]." It is divided into three areas&mdash;Stagnant Tunnels, Unstable Mines, and Collapsed Depths.

If the player returns to Windfall Hollow later in the game, they are unable to enter the Condemned Mines again, at least through the original entrance.
