Cold Rupture is a unique grand charm in Diablo II: Resurrected.

Like all other sundered charms, Cold Rupture only drops from boss pack monsters in Terror Zones on Hell difficulty. Many monsters in Hell difficulty are immune to cold, with such high resistances that a high level Lower Resist or Conviction is still inadequate to break them, so the sundering provided here makes cold-based classes much more valuable. Sorceresses that have invested some points into Cold Mastery can find great use in this, as Cold Mastery does nothing to cold-immunes. The 1/5th reduction to effectiveness still applies, but it is a good deal better than no resistance reduction at all.

While the self-debuff of -70 to -90% cold resistance is severe, cold damage is usually not the biggest threat from monsters. Cold Enchanted monsters however, with their frost nova upon death, are much more likely to kill unsuspecting players holding a Cold Rupture.

Cold Rupture charms do not break the cold immunity of Gargoyle Traps late in Act I. This is one of only a handful of examples of sunder charms not working.
