Chaos Herald Pyl was a member of the Wrathborne.
Biography[]
In a vision of the future granted by the Einfrinn Tree, Pyl invaded Westmarch alongside the Wrathborne. In the vision, he was defeated by the hero(es) the tree had bestowed the vision to.[1]
Acting on the vision, the hero(es) confronted Pyl inside the Challenge Rift. Pyl was apparently aware (to at least some extent) of the future that awaited the Einfrinn Tree, and warned the hero(es) that they were tampering with fate itself. However, he was slain, and his remains brought to Rayek, where they were used in the Helliquary.[2]
In-game[]
Pyl is a boss in Diablo Immortal, during the quest "Opening the Helliquary." He is fought in Rakkis Plaza.
Pyl is accompanied by various Wrathborne demons. To attack him directly, the player has to destroy the three surrounding Death Spires. After this, he will kill the surrounding Westmarch Guard soldiers before attacking the player directly. He is fought a second time in the Challenge Rift, as part of the same questline. Upon his defeat, he drops Pyl's Flowing Chaos.
He has the following attacks:
- Fireball: Pyl shoots a fireball from his hand. It is his basic attack.
- Bone Spikes: Pyl sends out 3 diverging waves of Bone Spikes.
- Summon Minion: Pyl bangs his staff on the floor, and created multiple portals on the ground that release a total of 8 Demon Warriors. The minions leave corpses when they die.
- Corpse Explosion: Pyl explodes the corpses of his minions, creating areas of continuous damage.
- If no corpses are present, Pyl summons his minions and immediately kills them to provide corpses.
