A Cham rune is a high rune which can be socketed into equipment in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. The few rune words using Cham are not particularly popular, but Cham runes remain valuable for their Cannot Be Frozen property, and for their rarity as a rune, second only to Zod.
Effects[]
Equipment type | Effects |
---|---|
Weapon | Freeze Target +3 |
Body armor or helm | Cannot Be Frozen |
Shield | Cannot Be Frozen |
Socketing an item with a Cham rune increases the item's level requirement to 67, unless it was already higher.
A Cham rune is one of only a handful of sources of the Cannot Be Frozen attribute, important for protecting heroes reliant on attack speed from being chilled. Socketing a Cham rune in a helm, shield or armor can free up an equipment slot normally dedicated to getting Cannot Be Frozen, such as a ring slot for Raven Frost, for a more offensive option.
Sources[]
The Act 4 (H) Good treasure class has a chance to drop a Cham rune, as does the Act 5 (H) Good treasure class.
In single-player, open or ladder games only, the Horadric Cube can transmute two Jah runes and one flawless ruby into one Cham rune.
