The Cathedral of Hatred
The Cathedral of Hatred (also known as the Citadel of hatred)[1] is Mephisto's seat of power within his realm; the Realm of Hatred. It is the place where his essence reforms upon death. It is surrounded by a nigh impenetrable barrier of hellfire, which is maintained by one of Mephisto's lieutenants; Astaroth.

After killing Inarius within the Spire of Torment, Lilith meets with Astaroth at the barrier for him to complete his part of their deal, granting her passage. Meanwhile Mephisto (in his diminished form of a Bloodied Wolf) takes the Wanderer and Neyrelle directly to the cathedral through a portal. From there, Neyrelle sealed Mephisto's essence in a soulstone and departed the realm, leaving the Wanderer to confront Lilith where she ultimately fell.
In-game[]
The Cathedral of Hatred is featured in Diablo IV. It is here that Lilith is encountered as the final boss of the base game.
