Castle Cyrangar

Castle Cyrangar

Castle Cyrangar is a gameplay feature of Diablo Immortal, introduced in the Forgotten Nightmares update.

Lore[]

Cyrangar Expedition

A map of Cyrangar

An ancient fortress, Cyrangar is located within the mountains in the north of Duncraig,[1] on the outskirts of Westmarch.[2] It was inhabited by Clan Ortal, and bore the white lion associated with the clan, symbolizing the doom that stalks any who choose to fight alone.[3]

History[]

By the 13th century, undead roamed Cyrangar's interior, including restless spirits bound to rot in the castle for all eternity.[2]

Enter Cyrangar

A warband arrives at Cyrangar

c. 1271, the mists surrounding Cyrangar was cleared,[1] allowing warbands to clear the castle out. Some ancestral weapons were also recovered. Word of the castle's recovery reached the armies of the Burning Hells, who sought the stronghold for themselves. They launched an attack straight at the castle's front gate, with the warband(s) attempting to hold them off.[2]

Gameplay[]

Castle Cyrangar is accessible through the quest "Ruined Expedition," provided by Valstus. To begin the quest, the player's character must be at least level 20. The quest involves a quick jaunt to the castle, but to return to it, players must join a warband.

Purging Cyrangar

Purging Cyrangar

Upon arriving at Castle Cyrangar, the warband must fight their way through monsters. These are undead-themed, and include restless spirits. To defeat them, the warband must sever their connection with their tormented vessel, then cleansing their Remnants. Each of the Remnants provides unique bonuses that are applied to your character. Players can traverse this portion of Cyrangar alone or with up to seven other warband members as many times as desired. The dungeon layout is randomized.

Once the castle has been cleared, additional rooms become available for the warband members to occupy. Each room has a variety of bonuses that it provides to the occupant. Who occupies which room is up to the warband leader—they can assign and unassign players at will. A player is still able to unassign themselves from a warband room at any time. Players will receive the benefits of their room for as long as they occupy it, but cannot occupy more than one room at a time.[2]
