The Bride of Hell is a mysterious person, servant of Diablo and one of the leaders of the Cult of Terror.

Accompanied by the two leaders of the cult, the Bride of Hell portalled into Stormpoint to inspect the progress of the cult, and promise them rewards if they succeed in obtaining the Worldstone shard. She was interrupted by the presence of two people she could sense, spying on them from the Astral Realm.

She attacked them with a spell in order to sever their scrying, and hopefully kill them if the backlash prevented their souls from reconnecting with their bodies. Unfortunately, they succeeded in retreating fully to the Astral Realm.

She then proceeded to project the souls of cult members into the Astral Realm to stop them from returning to their bodies. When they failed, she summoned Ifriss the Destroyer directly into the Astral Realm. At the end, the intruders were able to kill Ifriss and safely return to their bodies..

Akinees gives the Bride of Hell the shard

In search of a way to rid the shard of Baal's taint, the Bride of Hell tasked Akinees with searching for a means to purify the shard. He informed her of a hidden island, which bears ties to the creation of Sanctuary. The Bride of Hell then took the shard from Akinees and portaled away.

Later, the Bride of Hell led the Cult of Terror to invade the Ancients' Cradle. They searched for places of power within the island where they could harness the Fire of Life in order to purify the shard, but were resisted by the island itself.

With the help of a hidden ally, the Bride was able to reach the Husk of Creation. The Shard-seeker arrived as the purification began, but they were too late — the Bride was protected by the shard itself, and was made untouchable. In a desperate bid, they dove into the Husk to stop the process. This was for naught as the shard was purified and the Bride escaped with it.

With the shard of the Worldstone in hand, the Bride of Hell led the cult to the ruined Tristram Cathedral.
