Braving the Rift

Braving the Rift is the fourth Westmarch quest in Diablo Immortal. It follows on directly from Legends of Eld, and leads directly into Bounties Abroad.

Objectives

• Talk to the Crest Merchant.
  (Charsi has led you to the Elder Rift, an ancient device uncovered from the Heart of Corvus. Speak with Jondo Mouren to learn its secrets.)
• Complete an Elder Rift empowered by a Legendary Crest.⁽¹⁾
  (You've acquired a Legendary Crest: an object capable of temporarily powering the Elder Rift. Now is the time to enter the rift and search for the Legendary Gems.)
• Return to the Crest Merchant.⁽²⁾
  (Success! You now hold one of the Legendary Gems. Return to Jondo Mouren in the Palace Square and deliver news of your victory.)

Talk to the Crest Merchant

• Class
  • Standard: Excuse me, but I had heard a rumor that there's been a breakthrough with the Elder Rift. You strike me as someone who knows a thing or two about it.
  • Blood Knight: I've been hearing a lot of talk about this Elder Rift. You know how I can use it, don't you?
• Jondo Mouren: You've got a sharp eye, adventurer. The court mages have been testing out various crests of power for a while now. We've just been given permission to start selling them. Only to qualified individuals, of course!
  From the look of you, I think we might be able to do business, friend. What do you say? The first crest's on me!

Collect the Crest from the Merchant

• Jondo Mouren: We have an accord then! Head over to the pedestal and place that crest in one of the recesses there. From what the mages tell me, that should activate the Elder Rift. Good luck in there.
• Charsi: A "legendary crest?" How fancy. I'll be waiting here when you're done!

Complete the Elder Rift and return to Jondo Mouren

• Jondo Mouren: You're back! Oh, thank the High Heavens, someone finally survived! Ha ha! I knew you were the right one. Tell me, what was it like in there?
• Class
  • Standard: Maze-like corridors filled with untold horror, as expected. I did find a few valuable things...Hold on, did you say "finally survived"?
  • Blood Knight: It was an interesting change of scenery. I did find a few valuable things... Hold on--did you say "finally survived?"
• Jondo Mouren: Valuable things, huh? Oh, I like the sound of that! Business is going to be booming once rumor of ancient treasures starts to circle around the city!
  Here, you more than earned these, friend! Have a few more crests on the house. Who knows what you'll find in there next time, huh?
  Hells, if you find something nice enough, you might even be able to make some decent platinum at that market in Rakkis Square to the south. Take a gander if you get the chance. It'll be worth your time your time, I promise you that.
