Beneath the Spire

Beneath the Spire is the third and penultimate quest of Act IV of Diablo III.

Transcript

Core

• Imperius: You! Your kind does not belong here! If I see you again, you will die!

• Auriel: Pay him no mind; this is your fight, nephalem. Your power is even greater than Tyrael foresaw.

• Tyrael: One can only hope. But now we must stop Diablo before he reaches the Crystal Arch above us!

• Cutscene
  • Necromancer: Diablo is readying his final blow against the High Heavens. A devastating act that would disrupt the Balance beyond all remedy. Tyrael and I must find a way to save both of our realms.

Townsfolk Dialogue

• Enchantress: I spoke with Itherael, and he helped me translate the document. It was written by an angel who saw promise in humanity...He began to teach a group of young women who had killed the daemons their masters summoned...

• Class
  • Necromancer: You and your sisters.

• Enchantress: None other. The Prophet I have followed for so many years...He was an angel!

• Class
  • Necromancer: And Tyrael reminded you of him.

• Eirena: Yes...but I do not know whether the Prophet was the dying angel I met or not. The writings say that he worked in absolute secrecy. Itherael knew nothing of them.

• Class
  • Necromancer: You will learn more about the Prophet's path as you make your own.

• Enchantress: You are right. And I hope that path will still be with you, my friend.

• Class
  • Necromancer: You were honest with me earlier. More of that, and we could reach a true understanding.

• Covetous Shen: I think we understand each other perfectly. Why bring the truth into it?

• Class
  • Necromancer: Because we face a great enemy, and there will be more of them on the horizon. I need your help.

• Covetous Shen: What a nice thing to say! And to return the favor, I do believe that the world could not do better than to have you as its savior. At any rate. When you defeat Diablo, don’t laze about. We have other lands to explore, you and I. Dirgest's Jewel is still out there somewhere.

• Covetous Shen: All is falling to ruin and corruption. Nothing in all my days and all my years has ever compared to this.

• Class
  • Necromancer: It is terrible to witness such a loss of Balance.

• Covetous Shen: But nowhere near as terrible as might happen if you do not defeat Diablo. All the jewels in Heaven or in our world would mean nothing then. Oh, I weep to think of such a day.

Quest Log

• Part 1
  • Barbarian: Tyrael is ready to fight by my side once again. We both know that the battles that awaits us will not be easy ones. We must fight relentlessly for every piece of ground we gain. But we will go to the Crystal Colonnade an onward up to the Silver Spire itself, whatever the price. This is our only hope for victory.
  • Crusader: Tyrael is ready to stand by my side. The fighting will be hard, and I am glad to have him. We will make our way to the Crystal Colonnade and then up the Silver Spire itself.
  • Demon Hunter: Tyrael has found the will to fight once again. I must say I am a little surprised. I have not seen many come back from the depths of despair...But now it is time to journey through the portal to the Crystal Colonnade and pursue Diablo in the Silver Spire. Whatever awaits us, at least we will not face it alone.

• Part 2
  • Barbarian: Overly proud warriors who cannot tell friend from foe are worse than those without the strength to wield their weapons. Imperius has gone too far, but time has returned sense to Tyrael; maybe it will do the same for his kin. For now, I must go through the gateway to the Silver Spire and press on until I reach Diablo.
  • Crusader: Imperius is truly an angry sort. Could the writings of Akarat soothe the soul of an angel, I wonder? I doubt it. In any case, the gateway to the Silver Spire lies just ahead, and I've little time.
  • Demon Hunter: Although I will bear the guilt to my grave, I never suspected that some of the angels would threaten to kill me for my role in Diablo’s resurgence. Imperius will have to wait. I’m hunting someone else right now, and he is very close...just through that gateway and up the Silver Spire...
