Bartuc

Bartuc was the brother of Horazon and like him, was a significant figure among the Vizjerei mage clans.

History

Bartuc along with his brother were respected among the Vizjerei mage clans for being acolytes of immense potential. But like his brother, he was drawn towards demonic magic. While Horazon delved into the secret arts of summoning and mind control, Bartuc had his interests set on the arcane magics of the demonic realm. He eventually succumbed to greed of power and demonic energies pervaded his very being. He eventually turned against the High Heavens and to the side of Burning Hells in the Sin War. He allied with the forces of Hell in order to better gain understanding of demonic magics, but it came with a heavy price, he turned to bloodlust and madness and in the end fought against his own brother. He was obsessed with bloodshed, but he enjoyed bathing in his enemies' blood even more. He was respected in all the realms for his power and knowledge, but came to be known only as the Warlord of Blood.

Games

Though he is said to have died in battle, he can be found as a boss in Diablo 1, guarding the Armories of Hell.

Near the end of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, there is also a unique "Council Member" - a demonic, once human warrior, called Bartuc the Bloody. He is unleashed upon the player character by Baal in the Throne of Destruction. He may be the same Warlord of Blood revived by Baal for his own bidding.
