"The newest monsters created by Baal to serve in his army of destruction, they are stealthy, quick-footed, and unusually tough for their size. Bony knobs protrude from their thick hides, giving them added protection against melee weapons."
The Minions appear in Act V of Diablo II. They carry long scimitars, wicked axes or mace-like weapons almost as tall as themselves and swing it in a gigantic downthrust that tears apart their victims. Sometimes they spawn with a shield, but even if they do not spawn with one, they can block incoming melee attacks with their bare hands if need be.
"These stocky monstrosities still carry the banner of their defeated creator, the Lord of Destruction, in the wastes of Arreat. Why they continue to demolish an already-ruined land and hunt its refugees remains a mystery—is this instinct, or some greater will?"

Amusingly enough, the minions' penis is visible in both concept art and the in-game sprites. This was unfortunately removed in Diablo 2: Resurrected.
Other Minion Demons apart from Baal's Minions appear in Diablo Immortal—Skarn's Minions found in the Halls of Punishment and Unbound Minions in the Defense of Cyrangar. All variants are identical in appearance, with only slight differences in their armor. This implies that Baal's Minions are not unique to Baal, but are simply Minion Demons he created for his Army of Destruction.
development[]
Slayers use a color palette of number 2 while the Ice Boars use number 1, furthermore in the Expansion Beta v1.41 files they used these palettes in opposite order - Slayer (1) and Ice Boar (2). It seems that Developers decided to swap the color palettes of Slayers and Ice Boars for the retail release, though their exploding variants still have the original palette order as an oversight.
