The Ashwold Guard is the town guard of Ashwold.

History

In 1270, the dead rose in/around Ashwold Cemetery. The soldiers stationed at Guard's Watch spent weeks fighting against them. Furthermore, they had to deal with grave robbers led by Gorman. To this end, they hired a mercenary named Batum to deal with the cutthroat. A number of villagers from Ashwold were conscripted into the Guard to deal with the threat.

The soldiers at Guard's Watch were relieved by the Shard-seeker. The undead battering against their gates were slain. However, more undead continued to rise from their graves, and their weapons were running blunt. However, in light of the hero's deeds, and the delivery of a bundle of swords from their blacksmith, Captain Azmir declared that they would make do.

Patrollers in the cemetery were ambushed by zombies from the Ossuary, which proceeded to overwhelm the Guard's defenses. They requested aid from Westmarch to deal with these undead. Similarly, when undead Royal Guard emerged from Ashwold Manor to plague the cemetery, the Guard likewise requested aid. As the Guard was stretched thin, Captain Azmir requested aid from adventurers to clear out the Eastern Gardens of the cemetery, and to defend the northern Ossuary, where guards sent there had been overrun. As many guards as could be spared were sent to the southern Ossuary, but further aid was still required.
