The Ancient Tunnels apparently once served as a sewer for the Lost City; the dungeon architecture is identical to the sewers under Lut Gholein. Random Unique monsters spawn toward the bottom, and your reward is a sparkling treasure chest of possible high-ticket items.
The Ancient Tunnels is a popular Magic Find location, since it is one of the few area level 85 zones, and contains no cold immunes on Hell difficulty.
