Altar of Sadness is an event in Act V of Diablo III. It takes place in Briarthorn Cemetery, in a partially fenced section of the graveyard containing a conspicuous altar in the middle.
Touching the altar causes a number of Swift Flesheaters to emerge from the ground, followed shortly by the unique Risen Bones Funerus. They must all be killed.

- Kill Funerus and the undead guarding the altar
- Use the Altar of Sadness
Using the Altar completes the event, dropping approximately a Radiant Chest worth of loot and awarding gold and experience.
